Thailand’s National Economic and Social Development Plan 2023–2027 (NESCD) aims to transform Thailand into a Circular Economy (CE) and low-carbon society. The plan outlines three main targets for economic progress by 2027: (1) achieving a minimum of 1% contribution of the CE to GDP growth, (2) reducing domestic material consumption by at least 25%, and (3) increasing material circularity indicators for specific products by at least 10%. Additionally, the plan introduces five sub-strategies to support this transition, including enhancing circular material use efficiency, improving manufacturing and service efficiency for a low-carbon CE, fostering connections with economic sectors for circular production systems, developing standard certification for circular products and services, and promoting eco-friendly growth in financial markets through green investments.
