A team from the Initiatives for Regional Development and Environmental Management (IRDEM) at Diponegoro University performed fieldwork in the Indonesian city of Semarang between October and November 2020 with the help and guidance of the Circularity Informatics Lab. The local administration of the city, resilience officers, and a bigger Urban Ocean team all provided assistance with the CAP. Product and packaging evaluations in retail locations throughout the city were part of the fieldwork, as were key stakeholder interviews with representatives of the government, business, and nonprofit sectors, cost analyses of reusable goods and plastic substitutes offered in the city, visual audits of recycling contamination, identification of public waste and recycling collection bins, and litter transects in three population count categories.
