Jakarta, December 2025 – The ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD) successfully concluded its pivotal ACESP Mission in Jakarta, delivering a series of high-level engagements focused on accelerating the Circular Economy and strengthening regional cooperation.
The mission established crucial synergies with key international and regional partners, laying a robust foundation for a more resilient and resource-efficient ASEAN economic landscape.
🇪🇺 Day 1: Forging Stronger ASEAN–EU Synergies
The mission kicked off by reaffirming the strong partnership between Southeast Asia and Europe:

Partnership with EU-SCOPE TRADE: ACSDSD held a constructive meeting to align its work with EU-funded initiatives. Discussions centered on joint activities and knowledge-sharing pathways to elevate ASEAN–EU cooperation in regional sustainability reforms and the circular economy transition.

Courtesy Call on the EU Ambassador: H.E. Ambassador Phasporn Sangasubana and Dr. Treesuvit Arriyavat met with H.E. Sujiro Seam, Ambassador of the European Union to ASEAN. The call reaffirmed mutual commitment to Green Transition, circular economy platforms, joint policy dialogues, and accelerating regional integration across ASEAN.
💼 Private Sector Leadership: Dialogue with ASEAN-BAC
A core focus of the mission was engaging the business community, recognizing its vital role in sustainability:

Courtesy Call on the Philippines Mission to ASEAN: ACSDSD met with H.E. Evangeline T. Ong Jimenez-Ducrocq, Ambassador of the Philippines to ASEAN. Discussions centered on increasing the participation of ASEAN Member States in ACSDSD programmes, collaborating under the ASEAN Circular Economy workstreams, and aligning shared priorities for the crucial post-2025 sustainability agenda.

Courtesy Call on the Ambassador of Denmark to ASEAN/Indonesia: A meeting with H.E. Sten Frimodt Nielsen, Ambassador of Denmark, focused on updates to the ASEAN Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ACESP), enhancing the upcoming ASEAN Circular Economy Forum, and ongoing collaboration under Denmark’s support for regional circular and waste management initiatives.
