This webinar is part of the ASEAN-German Cooperation Project: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle to Protect the Marine Environment and Coral Reefs (3RproMar). It is organised in partnership with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and the Global Action Partnership for EPR (GAP for EPR).
Overview:
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) plays a critical role in global waste management efforts. ASEAN Member States have made significant strides in developing EPR frameworks to combat plastic pollution. This webinar will explore how these national efforts can align with global commitments, focusing on:
- Regional and national best practices in ASEAN and beyond.
- Successes and challenges from pilot activities.
- Actionable recommendations to strengthen EPR initiatives against plastic pollution.
Speakers:
Global EPR experts from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), ERIA, GAP for EPR, and key stakeholders from the Southeast Asia region will share insights and experiences.
Target Audience:
Policymakers, private sector representatives, and all stakeholders and practitioners along the plastic packaging value chain in ASEAN and beyond are encouraged to participate.
