[23 October, 2026] Closing the loop requires empowering the next generation of leaders to rethink how resources flow across Southeast Asia.
Last Friday, Dr. Treesuvit (David) Arriyavat, Senior Project Manager for the ASEAN Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ACESP), engaged with university students and faculty during a special guest lecture for the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) School of Business.
Under the topic “ASEAN Business in a Changing Sustainability and Circular Economy Landscape: Markets and Trade Regulations in the Sustainable Transitions”, the session explored how future business leaders must navigate the rapid shift from linear consumption to circular business models and integrated compliance. Key topics included managing the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), Deforestation Regulations (EUDR), and Digital Product Passports (DPP) to track material lifecycles.
A special thank you to Dr. Tony Halim, Associate Faculty at SUSS, for the invitation, seamless coordination, and continued partnership in making this academic-industry exchange possible.
Engaging youth and young professionals is vital for equipping future practitioners with the tools to champion circular strategies, invest in supply chain traceability, and turn resource efficiency into a core competitive advantage.
ACESP remains committed to fostering regional dialogues, building youth capacities, and empowering young professionals to shape a resource-resilient, circular ASEAN.
